During a rainy (obviously!) trip to Snowdonia we had one day of very bad weather, as it was so wet and quite a cool day being January, we settled on doing some smaller walks. Having walked the Fairy Glen that morning we moved up to Conway falls as we thought it might be good to see the surging water due to the weather.

There isn’t much to say about the route here, it’s a pathed area that you follow in one direction, the main thing we wanted wait to plot the route to show distance etc and just how big it is.

The walk itself is very easy and although there are a few steps it’s never difficult underfoot. The route starts by heading towards the river and eventually brings you around to see it from above, you then follow the path down and after winding backwards and forwards a bit you get to a much more open area. This is the showstopper, here the falls can be seen in all their glory and the ranging swirls above become a much more pronounced and exciting waterfall. We spend a bit of time here, there are picknick tables and due to the weather not many people around, so it was a good place to stop.

From here, you follow the path back up and around towards the entrance/exit, this section is quite nice and there is a lot of woodland but the trip around isn’t too far so it’s not long until you’re back.

The waterfalls a fantastic, and the small price of admission is worth it, especially on a wet day when you can see the falls roaring.
